ANA Summer Seminar 2004: Jerry Bobbe, CTCC#4 and issuer of the Token Examiner, will be doing an evening mini-seminar on conders with a focus on the history, manufacturing procedures and the coins themselves. Byzantine Coin Store: Larry Gaye, who has been collecting Conder tokens since 1985, has announced that 39 tokens are currently available at his Byzantine Coin Store website and that he's expecting a "lot of Conder activity" at the upcoming ANA 26-28 March 2004 Spring Show in Portland Oregon.

UK Token Congress: This year's Token Congress sponsored by the Token Correspondence Society is scheduled for Friday 3 October through Sunday 5 October at the Langham Hotel Eastbourne. Cost is £115 per person or £110 if sharing a room. A programme of events is available. At present about 100 people are attending. "Colin Adams put together this magnificent collection over the last ten years, buying whatever appeared on the market in that time - it is probably one of the most complete penny collections seen in recent times." No tokens to speak of but well worth a look.

Simmons Gallery MailBid 28: Latest auction catalogue from Simmons Gallery (MailBiD 28) is available online. The closing date for bids is Tuesday 29 July 2003 at 12 noon BST. Auction has over 500 lots, covering "all the old favourites" - British and foreign tokens, mining, pub checks, countermarked coins and calendars, plus a few medals which are more in keeping with the tokens list, including some from Mauritius and German East Africa. Lots 78-86 are 18th Century tokens.

Next Simmons Token Catalogue: Simmons Gallery reports that they're working on their next tokens catalogue and it should be out and on the net beginning of June with the auction closing mid July. Hertfordshire DH 1: DNW's InterNews reports that their upcoming 19 March auction "will include the balance of the collection of British tokens formed by the late Mrs Eileen Judson, including a good run of 17th century pieces from East Hertfordshire and Suffolk, and 18th and 19th century tokens from East Anglia generally. One item of particular importance is an example of the penny token issued by Robert Orchard of Sawbridgeworth (Hertfordshire DH 1), of which only four examples are believed known."

Charles Bushnell's Copy of James Conder: 15 February 2003 auction by Charles Davis (Numismatic Literature) has not only Dalton & Hamer, three Bell books and several other token titles but also "An Arrangement of Provincial Tokens .... etc" by James Conder that was once owned (and signed) by Charles Bushnell, a premier American collector of the 1800s.
